It doesn't cost any more for the federal tax number. This is jsut if you even have employees in your business you can properly file to pay them. This is free. IF you are incorporating then that costs money depending on where you are, BUT you wouldn't have to incorporate to get a business account.

with ebay you must, by law, have your sales and use tax information with the IRS. You can jsut go to your local IRS office, file the paper work and wait for your Sales And Use tax forms and you are a business. Then get your EIN filed with the federal government to have your ability to employe people, and THAT is what the banks need most of the time to open a business account. something from the Federal government classifying you as a business John Doe dba Zbcoins9192.

again, this may be different for your state or bank, and you need to check those. But you never even have to use the federal employer tax identification number for anything other than opening the bank acount if you don't want other employyes, or need them at that time.

Sales & Use tax information is FREE from the IRS
Federal Employee Tax ID is FREE from the Federal Government (unless this changed recently)

Then you SHOULD have all you need to open a business account at a bank and do business on ebay. Again, depending on what hoops your state or bank (credit union?) makes you jump through beyond the government requirements.

the more options you choose to add like an ebay store fees, incorporation (filing on schedule S and schedule C), etc will cost more. but as simple as it takes to be in business (ie the lawn mowing service example) is the FEIN and a 1040 to file personal taxes. for ebay you should still get the Sales and Use tax information to pay your taxes because you should be collecting tax from EVERY buyer. Just ask the bank, the IRS office if you have any other questions and they will be glad to help. at least the IRS will because more forms filled out means more money they get to take from people in taxes.

BUT, even with all that, and a business account at a bank, it doesn't mean they will just let you get all sorts of boxes of coins because banks have that right to be jerks, cause they are a business now, not a service industry with responsibilities to the people anymore.

Good luck with both the account and coins, as well if you actually start a business. More money earned means more you can CRH or higher value coins.
