I currently have TD bank as my main source however the branches in my area do not respond well and I belive most of the tellers are also coin hunters, so to them I'm competition. however if I have an account and more than enough money how can they refuse me boxed coins. There has to be a loop hole aside from bringing in goodies for people to do the most simple task out of their daily tasks. and still not want to work with me after giving said goodies. I have heard about Wells Fargo being friendly can anyone give input to this or suggest other banks and/or Strategies.

Firstly, Secondly you should just get a new bank. If they are holding back the goodies for themselves their is not much you can do. Their may be a legal way you can force them to give you coins but if you do that they will just pick on you relentlessly in other ways. Best to move on.

Banks are in business to make money.
Asking for a few rolls of coins is one thing, asking for boxes of rolls is another. The armored courier does not deliver this stuff to the banks for free.
Offer to pay the service fees if you want boxes of coins. You might be treated better and feel a little more welcome.
Good luck and welcome to the forum!

to CCF. I don't think any bank is "required" to sell you boxes of coins unless you have a "business" account. Call around your location and talk with the bank managers and tell them why you want boxes of coins. You should be able to find one that is CRHing friendly.Good luck. John1

One of the banks I use is Wells Fargo. The treatment I get varies from branch to branch. One branch (admittedly kinda small) told me never to bring them coins to deposit (into my account) and that I should take the coins back to the branch from where I got them. Not CRH friendly. Another branch (more of a "main" branch), has no problem with me "withdrawing" boxes of coins and they have them on hand and no need to "order" them. CRH friendly. Another branch will let me withdraw or "buy" rolls (in small quantities), but never has dollar coins or half dollar coins and, though they don't explicitly say it, resents me asking. Got rolls of solid wheats there before. CRH "neutral." You may find your treatment depends on the branch. Try a different branch before changing banks completely.

Thanks for the welcome ive been a Reader for quite some time this is my first post on a blog alwasy wanted to but never did.
This is also my 3rd bank after trying Bank of America and Suntrust Bank of america went out of their way on the "hidden fees policy" long story short I closed my account in the negative and walked away with $400 in cash due to their errors. Suntrust just wasnt helpful and locations were limited during the time.
I am aware of the fees the courier passes on to the bank, BUT get this, I have been told that the fees can not be passed onto me by both tellers and manager, because I am not a buisness account holder. that is a complete lie because having a buisness account in most cases lifts the fees from what I know atleast. It may also be due to the area I live in I'm about 2 miles from the Washintgon D.C boarder. So I'm in a very urban area either I'm dealing with a coin roll hunter who is determined to deter me from "their" coins, Or I am dealing with an angry and ignorant person who wants nothing to do with my buisness. I shall go out on my next off day to do some bank searching thanks again for the welcomes.

Should I open a new topic if I want to ask about if the area you live in depends on the coins you will find. IE: say you live in rural/agriculture area vs urban inner City? If so, I will start one still new to this and do not want to offend or irritate anyone.

Bobby is correct.
Closing an account with a negative balance is asking for trouble. They can, and will, report you to the credit bureaus and can keep you from opening new accounts.
It is all in the fine print of the account terms and conditions you agreed to, but probably didn't read, when you originally opened the account.

Go up to tellers you know to be new. They are eager to please. But remember that they don't owe you anything for all that heavy lifting - to them that's hard work. And they're banks, there to make money, not to break even and spend their labor on you.

Business account is your best option since businesses need change to operate on in order to earn money to deposit into the bank which the bank can turn around and make bad investments with.
I have only had luck at Wells Fargo and not having an account and never been denied coins anywhere with a business account. I also don't get large amounts or that often. a box or two a month is all I can support hunting. Barring that get a new bank. Some are good in some areas and the same bank could have all the jerk tellers and managers at another branch. I have also never bribed any tellers, but freely opened the box of halves for the vault teller at WF the first time she ordered them because she had never seen one.
Also some people just make runs of all sorts of banks while they are doing daily errands and stuff and just get some rolls from every bank they can find! Boxes are easy sure, just pop into the bank, get the box and go home. But I have found more silver halves in customer rolls than boxes (all 40%ers).

Do you mind if I ask what a "customer roll" is? Thanks.

customer rolls are the ones that people wrapped and then cashed.

A customer roll is a hand packed roll that is brought in to the bank by an account holder. You get them from a tellers drawer usuallly. Gastation an liquor stores are the best places aside from banks.
