Went down to the coin expo today hoping to find some 1911, 1908 or 1937 specimen coins. There were a few, but I didn't like the ones I saw, and others came in as a complete set (which is out of my budget at the moment).

Tried looking for a 1970 specimen dollar, SP66-67, but no luck

So I settled with these two. I'm really starting to like nickel dollars. I don't have much knowledge on them, but definitely will look on learning in the future.

One thing that threw me a little off is the lack of hair detail in 72 compared to the 73

In 73 a new obverse die with larger beads and more detail was used, similar to the Quarter.

I thought part 2 (where I had my eye on a few pieces) was tonight. Turned out to be yesterday

Looking forward to seeing what you've won!

Paulz what did you think of the 1870 1/2 dollar in that auction... I know it was only a VF but I was tempted to go for it.. ended up 1st bid won it for 150!

ohhh dear... I mean... the bidding on that item was CRAZY... I am almost convinced to send in my own 1870... I think it went for $2250... (perhaps they thought it was a "no LCW").....

Ummm that's it!!.. just don't check the past auction bookmarks for awhile...

What really got me crying was the number of "solid" notes that either didn't sell or sold for the 1st bid!
