*sigh* Ive bought coins from Canada Post multiple times now and every time the coin comes with lots of dust INSIDE the capsule which means someone opened it to look at the coin. Every Single Time Whereas, when I buy from the Royal Canadian Mint, the coins usually come pristine. I've stopped buying from Canada Post now. The cash back isn't worth it for my coin OCD. lol Anybody else have these experiences?

It would be nice if someone who works at Antigonish knows for sure what Canada Post does with their returns and unsold stuff. I was told they wholesale out to outfits like Canadian Coins

I buy my coins from RCM and a lot of time there are lots of dust particles inside the capsule. So I think the problem originates from the RCM. I just sent them back for exchange. Comparing to the other Mints like Royal Mint UK and the Perth Mint.. RCM is the only one having dust problem. At least that's my experience.

I've had dust in my coins before and I just used a small microfibre cloth to wipe them off gently. Works like a charm.

The PO I deal with does reduce older coins, I have got them any where from 10 to 50% off. I have not had any dust problems yet.

The PO near me has even some 2006 and 2001 (I think 10c set). I see them for years, and the owner says, that he has no time to deal with it, but sure he would sell it with discount.

My postmaster says they just discount until sold and yet the Shoppers outlet says they return the unsold coins

I buy stuff from my post office at 60% retail, once it is there for two years or more...

OP, are you talking about coins bought from your local post office or coins bought from Canada Post online? I rarely buy from my local post office but have bought online before. I have no problems for those coins ordered online, they are just as fresh as those from the RCM.

I meant Canada Post's online fulfillment centre.
AFAIK the brick and mortar stores do not refund coins.

Post offices in Canada sell coins? I am jealous...... I mean I live in NYC. The biggest city in US and one of the biggest in the world and I can count the coin shops here with one hand.
