ebay item number 381426724764

1/4 ounce gold coin, says 9999 pure gold, but only has a ten dollar face value which seems strange to me. I looked on the RCM website and couldn't find this coin anywhere. Don't 1/4 oz pure gold coins usually have a $50 face value? So what's going on with this one?

1/4 oz = $10
1/2 oz = $25
1 oz = $50

I looked at all the 1/4 oz gold coins on the RCM website, they are all $50 or $75 face value except for the ones from the New Zealand mint which have a $25 face value. And the one ounce coins have a $200 face value. So I don't know where you're getting your numbers from, copperpennyconnection. And I'm still confused as to why I can't find this coin on their website. Do they sell different ones down in the US or something?

That is the 1/4 oz bullion gold maple leaf. Nominal face value is $10. The RCM doesn't sell bullion coins directly to the public, just their collector coins.

OK thanks, I did not know that. So, if they don't sell them directly to the public, do you have to be a dealer or something to get these from them?

If your Canadian then SilverGoldBull.com or some other Canadian company might be better to buy from, its not always best to order from the USA for us once you factor in the exchange and shipping and possible fees through customs etc, although lots of Canadian bullion collectors do order PMs from the USA and don't have issues through customs, your mileage may vary though.
