I am trying to sort / inventory my rather modest collection of 1 oz. silver from around the world today. I am a little confused by this series although it is one of my favorites. Am I missing any of this series? Did it start in 2014 with the first issue. Or is this 2 different series completely.

Haha, you are too kind, I am glad to be of help in finding you coins, I appreciate it when folks point out new bullion coins and glad I can do the same for others.
Yes the Benin elephant started with 2014, so if you have that one first you are so far up to speed with the series. Man, it looks all over nice together there, I am liking the new rhino coin!!
I dont know if you will be doing the various finishes and you might have seen but they also have colored versions, gold plated and there is one more that escapes my mind. In addition, did you know they have a kilo size of the Benin elephant with a wood case!
Ugh, I want a somalian and benin kilo elephant coin but I am sitll holding out.
Wonderful collection tho you have there, I like this series a lot and it looks so nice how you have it there! Keep up the great work!
BTW, did you see New Zealand has a new hippo coin coming out also?

BTW--- I believe the hippo coin, is from Chad... but they are from the same coin company... thats the main difference... but I believe they are still the same series, I forget the english translation, protection of nature I believe.. I am not near my collection right now to look at them and my notes.

@yup Thanks as always for your help. Yes, the Hippo has the same "protection de la nature" as the Benin coins so I thought it was also in this series but wasn't positive. I would love to do the kilos and the colorized coins but my coin piggy bank just won't let me do more than the 1 oz. silver rounds. Maybe someday I can branch out a little! Have a great weekend and I appreciate you~! I will check out the hippo from New Zealand tho. The animals are always my favorites. Thanks!!!

just wanted to bump this thread up, come across this the other night.. had no clue this was around. IT is a nice set, especially if you havent bought the other ones yet. A bit too much silver for my like with current downtrend in silver, however, at auction might take some of the pain out. Here is a link to a recent auction that finished in fact- http://www.ebay.com/itm/37150612593...RK:MEBIDX:IT

Looks like they released the 1 in 2014 and then 4 in 2015 and I'm guessing another 4 for 2016.......
I only collect the elephant ones....so I have 3 in my collection 2014, 2015, 2016

I collect this series also but I never saw the coin with all three of the animals for sale. I did get what I thought was the next one in the series. A Lion. Humm guess I have some research to do? I like that tray they are displayed in.

To answer my own question after doing research the extra is a commemorative medal that only comes in these sets. Limited to 199 issued. Thanks for the heads up Yup!
If I didn't already have the others I would buy a set to get the medal but I'm going to pass as bad as I hate to.

It is a nice set, I believe the special item coin is the one with the zebra, elephant and rhino all together and I guess that coin is only available in the set.
I do not plan on buying any of the other coins in the series and to tell you the truth, I was disappointed with the 2016 Benin elephant design but thus far its been a nice series, I do like it a lot, especially the previous elephants and rhino coin.
I would love to get one of those Benin elephant kilo coins in the nice wood case but I just cannot pull the trigger with silver dropping and not coming to a resolution to where prices are going.

Thanks yup. That's a nice coin! A Benin kilo elephant sure would be a showcase coin for sure. The right time will come for you to pull the trigger.
I am still bouncing back and forth on world bullion series. I am drawn to ones that change from year to year and am especially fond of animal coins. Rwanda and Benin are my two favorites so I will try to keep these current...less the special medals limited to the three coin sets.
Happy Collecting!

No problem Coinfusion! I love finding these new coins as they are made, keep things fun. I hope some day to get a few kilo elephants, I think my patience will be rewarded lol Those Benin come so nice in the wood box, very nice stuff. Then you have the Somalian kilos! whew... lol Yea the Rwanda series is so nice... I have no beef with how the series has progressed tho I am not collecting each coin. Btw, did you know they had like F15 Rwanda coins, if you stalk ebay they do come up and are very nice, a nice variation in the series. I have the elephant and rhino,, I want the privy mark ones next. The premiums have been coming down on these slowly as silver prices have remained depressed. You know, if you keep stalking that latest 3 coin set and can participate in an auction, I think thats a way to getting a fair prices if you dont mind finding prices lower later on.
