Does anyone know more about this coin besides it weighing .5g 24k. I read only 3k was minted but I notice two types of coin. The one like mine where kennedy profile is not shiny and the other coin is. So was there 6k minted. And why on earth would someone make such a small coin

There appears to be a reverse proof version of this coin as well as what you have, the proof version.

Because it's more affordable that way. Ironically, it's more expensive in the long run to buy gold in such small quantities. The premiums go up as the size goes down.

I do not know what it is, but I know what it is not, which is a US issued commemorative or non-circulating legal tender coin.

I moved this to the World Coins and Commemorative forum to see if it gets more hits. If anyone feels it belongs elsewhere, please let us know.

Buruni 5000 francs. That's what it reads. More specifically it's some sort of Non Circulating Legal Tender high denomination coin. I cannot confirm whether it's official or not (read: privately made or not)
