Ok, from the MAD on both sides to the severe split plating doubling this coin has a ton going on with it. But then I think it's also a true DDO. Just look at the lettering. But zlincolns always still fool me so I just wanted opinions. Looks like the bow tie might be doubled too?

Thoughts...

Now that I take a better look at the reverse. The lettering is showing the same possible doubling as the obverse also...

Looks like the coin received a very strong strike and split the plating in various areas.

I'm not talking about the obvious and severe split plating. Its how the letters look split from the inside and spread wider that was making me question hub doubling

Die wear, MD and split plating....not a doubled die, I don't see any notching. This issue gets me all the time, a lot of the coins look like this due to over-use of the dies and fairly high striking pressures.

If I'm learning, this is one of the signs of DD?

Note the overall size of the devices are normal. The tops of the devices have been affected a bit in circulation. Not a doubled die. Probably 2004 DDR is the only one I can think of with enlarged devices on all the devices:

Mostly bar cents on the columns or on the EPU devices.

Ok COOP I have a question....what is device? I know that is a
Basic coin term and I believe your referring to the "base and top of the coin?" Also, serif....is that the tips of the base and the top of letter and numerals? I apologize to all you experts if I sound like a newbie....Oh wait 1, I am a newbie lol, lol, lol! After serving 22 years in the army and now retired (my wife says retarded, ha) I am very persistent and WILL FIND THAT ELUSIVE DDO AND DDR with the communities help, thank you in advance! Sarge
