In my brief time penny roll hunting I've been surprised how many pennies from the 60's & 70's I find that are in such nice shape for their age, I often ask myself "where have these pennies been all these years"?. Yesterday I bought a $25.00 box and another $10.00 of customer rolled pennies.
I opened one of the customer rolls and fifty bright shiny wheats came tumbling out. The coins were dated between 1956 and 1957 and these coins look flawless, no scratches, bright beautiful shine. They look like the day they were minted.
I already know finding fifty rolled was a jackpot but finding them in this condition, is that rare?
If someone would kindly tell me how to post pictures I'll snap a few and post them when I get home from work.
Regards TMK

While unusual for sure, not really rare.
Cents tend to be stuck in coffee cans, jars drawers and such, often for years and occasionally for decades. When found by non--collectors (or "Normals"s if you will...) they are often cashed in.
For you to find the shiny Wheats from the 50's I will guess that they may have been rolled for years and cashed in at the bank already rolled. If they went through CoinStar or a coin counter they would have likely been mixed with other coins into a bag and it would have been unlikely to be such a solid roll.

Wow! I'm lucky to get 10 in a box and not even unc. And you get 50. In 1 roll! And all unc!

Roll Hunter.
My best box ever before this was thirty one wheats scattered in various rolls my worst was three, my average is between six and ten. I had lousy stings of boxes and some good ones. :)

as far as hunting rolls of pennies goes, I think you did excellent. I don't do a lot of customer wrapped rolls because I cannot find them.
BU wheats, a full roll? Excellent find :-)

Though I'm not much of a cent hunter, I did bring home 50+ solid rolls of wheats from the bank about two years ago. Many of the rolls contained bright coins and they were solid dates. In the mix were several rolls of 1955's, two solid rolls of steel cents, and oldest of the solid rolls being 1928 (not shiny).
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72

Tough to get a good picture at night under a lamp with the shine. They are flawless though.
Thank you for the interest. Beginners luck?
