Thanks Cascade, I appreciate it. He got his hackles up and I cranked up the backhoe lol. He's actually a nice guy but just couldn't see the difference between the three pics no matter how many identifiers I showed him. We're good now.

Absolutely not the same. Even the flip is different.

KenKat says all that needs to be said, but I'll add this: I think a lot of people, myself included, feel bad about inconveniencing a vendor by returning a coin, and therefore we may do more than we should to "justify" the return. Note that the dispute described here related to the buyer saying the seller did something wrong and the seller saying he didn't. That problem is avoided by that nice little ebay option: "Changed my mind." I'm not sure, but I think the vendors actually prefer when the buyer uses that option, because it does not record as something negative on the part of the vendor. I will not buy from a vendor who does not accept returns. I try really hard not to take advantage of the return option, but the fact is that even the best photographs do not tell you exactly what the coin looks like "in real life." If it does not match the photo, send it back without feeling a need to explain. If any vendors read this and I'm saying something wrong, I'm open to correction.

I would've sent it back but when it's the sellers fault they need to buck up and pay return shipping. He refused to do that.

So I just looked again and know what happened. Last week they had a multi coin auction for 2 quarters and only one sold. Looks like he relisted the unsold one with pictures of both coins. So technically, you're both right and both wrong. He did send you the coin in the picture, but at the same time you didn't receive the pictured coin. Given that he knew the backstory and you he should accept the return and pay shipping. Putting pix of the wrong item, even if unintentional, is technically "not as described".

Yeah I had noticed that too and hit him up on that. He still wouldn't pay return shipping. At that point I just told him to give me the difference between the coins cost and melt value.
