Hey CCF, I'm currently looking for good images of all decimal Canadian coins. I recently re-coded my website and I'm in the process of updating the data and adding images. The final goal would be having images/data on all Canadian coins for everyone to use. Anyone helping out would get a special thanks on the About Us page. So if your interested please send me a message.

You can check out the current site at:

http://www.pieceofcurrency.com

If you have any questions/comments feel from to contact me.

Thanks,

--James

I would like to thank everyone for all the images I have received. I'm currently working on getting then all uploaded (will take awhile) and I must say there are some amazing coins. The images I have received were so great that I have even increased the display size of the coin images from 300x300px per side (300x600px for full coin) to 400x400px per side (400x800px for full coin), This really make the coins pop.

So if you are sending in images please side the highest-res you can (2MB+ file sizes are ok) or a link to the limages online (PCGS registry images are good as well). This also really helps when I need to take close up of markers for varieties and such. Thanks again guys :).

Been working hard on the website getting the photos uploaded and making changes here and there (still going through all the data and updating it). Wanted to show you what I'm have been doing with the high-res images. Here's an example of a coin that is finished:

25c 1880H Wide 0 / Narrow 0: http://www.pieceofcurrency.com/Home...Circulation)

These page includes and nice image of the coin, the value in various grades, additional photos of the markers and other varieties of the coin for same year.

Still working on a few things like a "Grading" tab which will help collector grade there own coins. Would love to know what you all think.

Thanks again,

--James

We now have some awesome photos of George Quarters and Nickel Dollars provided by CCF members :). I have also been re-photographing my own collection to update/fill in missing photos (currently making my way through my pennies).

I'm also working hard to update all the incorrect information, adding missing varieties and updating value data. This process if going slow but in a month or so should be completed.

Thanks again CCF and if you have anymore photo's feel free to contact me :).

I clicked your link, and read the point about coin collecting in the 14th century, however I am positive I read that that there is documentation of children collecting either Julius Caesar coins or Nero's coin (during roman times). you may need to research this fact.

I believe you are correct collecting goes back further then the 14th century but I don't really think it was recognized/mainstream until around the 14th century when many kings started to collect. I probably should replace that text it was really there just as a placeholder when templating the site layout :).
