I agree that it is a tad bit pricey. But I'm really into searching wheats and figure why not. We shall see. I'm going to go through a couple of regular bank boxes tonight while I watch the football game

Depends on the date/mm mix you have. Full spectrum, then probably an average price. If lots of common 40s and 50s, then probably too much if all you were doing is buying wheats. But probably fine for the thrill of hunting varieties and finding a few. Access to coinage also plays a factor. The worse your access, then the more justified to pay a little more than average.
Your fun (and money): How much is that worth? Good luck on the hunt. Looking forward to your fun finds!

Id say there is no unsearched lots. The question is how well they were searched and what the person was searching for?

Quote: fistfulladirt , I know you don't patronize banks. but you must be joking on that comment . Seriously, I was with banks for over 40 years, and have crh'd almost as long. Thought I was up on all the crh terminology.

Well, here's hoping you find more than one wheat that you are looking for. There is only a small handful of wheats that are worth paying $175.01 for. On the plus side, if you find two that means you only pay $87.51 each for them.
I'm actually wondering what you are going to do with all the extra wheat cents once you are done searching. Is there a way to get some of your money back?

@atticguy I've click clacked (crh) over 6000 wheats out of the banks since 2011. My neighbor works for Disney and said she wanted to take my family of 5 to Disney for free sometime at the beginning of next year. I thought huh, I'm really into searching varieties and errors right now. I think I'll roll the dice and pay a little more than I normally would for a $25 box of bank rolled wheats and see what I get.(and by pay a little more, I mean I never bought pennies for more than face value) For me to break even I need to find $100 worth of wheat varieties, errors, or rare wheats. The rest I could probably sell for 4 cents a piece on Craigslist. That was my thought process anyways. P.S. I know I'm not actually going to get to go to Disney for free. Her family is going with us and I plan to pay for their food as a way of saying thank you for the free tickets.

My box of wheat pennies are out for delivery right now. So by the time I get home I should have them. I will take tons of pictures for those that are interested.

That's great news! So I was wrong about them all being common dates! Keep a look out for a '22.
