Hello everyone. As you may know, the only coin roll hunting I've done are the occasional customer wrapped half dollars and coins I need for work. Last night, I got a penny roll for my drawer, and there were THREE wheats in it. All the rolls were the ordinary machine wrapped rolls, except the nickels which look customer wrapped and say "String and Sons" on the side. Anyone know which rolls produce the best results in general?
Rest in Peace

I am not an experienced CRH but from past experience I would say the customer wrapped rolls produce the better coins especially the month of Christmas.

Customer wrapped tend to be better from my experience. Particularly when they are wrapping from the bottom of the change jar. A business customer roll doesn't differ much from a bank wrapped roll.

I agree, customer wrapped can be a goldmine.

Nice find with the wheat cents, by the way.

About ten years ago I got a full box of CWR of wheats. Just recently I went through a box of Loomis wrapped and found a total of 268 wheats and some other nice stuff.
Luck of the draw I guess.

"String and Sons" only manufactured the wrapper.

One year, I searched $30K in machine-wrapped dimes.
The next year, I searched $30K in customer-rolled.
The average remained the same, 1 silver per $150.

The short-term chances of hitting a solid roll is good with customer-rolled I will admit.
