I think it's legit and think there is a notch in lower left serif? RPM is to the east-if it is I'm having trouble matching it up any help? Can't look for markers now as I'm at work and don't have coin thanks!

i see doubling on the date also but I'm just a beginner

The date is definitely MD the mintmark may be also

I see MD on the date, in the same direction. I think it's MD on the MM. I could be wrong.

I think it is Mechanical Doubling. In the photos I don't see any split serifs and the doubling does match the doubling on the date. Sometimes things appear more clearly in a photo than with a loupe, sometimes the opposite is true.

I believe it is Machine Doubling. In most RPM's (Not all) Doubling is not present in both the date and MM (Especially when they are in the same direction, like yours). Don't quote me as I am not the best, but hope I could help ;)
