So I found this 1985 Pointed 5 while Roll Hunting last night, and after looking at it twice I realized something was off.

have I found a Blunt - Pointed 5?

first off, I have found about 12 pointed 5's so I am very familiar with their tells.

I always look for the angled down stroke that connects to the lower semicircle.

I know this coin is not is the best shape, but it does not look like there has been any hard hits to the area around the 5 that would change the look of the 5.

Please give me your thoughts

I agree, however this pointed 5 is almost blunt compared to the dozen or so I already have. is there more than 1 type of pointed 5? I have not heard of this.

The sharpness of the point is probably worn down. I'm not aware of any other but who knows..

Thanks for this thread, I was unaware of the other marker for pointed 5 :). Learn something new everyday.
