Classic Coins Pillar of the Community United States 940 Posts	Posted 10/17/2015 11:10 pm I wouldn't recommend buying dateless Buffalo nickels at all. The lack of a date significantly limits the appeal of the nickel, in my opinion. Dated Type 1 Buffalo nickels with any mint mark are affordable on almost any budget with a little patience and saving. As your collection progresses, the dateless nickels will likely nag at you, and you'll want to upgrade and replace them. Report this Post to the Staff
Rackster Pillar of the Community United States 4809 Posts	Posted 10/17/2015 11:21 pm I think that's good advice. I pickle the dateless Buffalo I find because I have a pickled nickel collection going. And the only dateless Buffalo in my main album is the Type 1 (holding a spot for the time being). And it might be a D or S...only pickling will reveal its identity at this stage.
