I bought this from the mint, and now the music box does not work. Has anyone experienced this problem?

I believe the box is pretty much looked at as disposable unfortunately. As you mentioned there is no way to get into one without destroying the case.

This reflects badly on the design & the RCM . Why make a music box case, if there's no way to replace the battery. It speaks loudly to the ideas and quality control at the mint.

Its mainly young girls and ladies this coin would appeal to. Meaning the music function would be important to the full enjoyment of the coin. After all this isn't supposed to be some cheap disposable toy. The music was billed as a featured selling point. The mint does come up with unique ideas, however they fall down in the execution of them.

A wind up box would have been a better choice although it would cost more to produce, and it wouldn't play digital music.
