Hi Guys!

Photographed is one coin, however I have 45 of these which came out of a roll today. They're all new rolls which I got from the bank. I had all 2015 beginning to end rolls except for this one, so I opened it. This roll had a 1983 Penny on the front of it and a 2015 on the back. It ended up being all 2015s except for 2 of them.

I know a little bit about doubling by now, even though I am newer. It appears to be shelf doubling except for a few certain places. The doubling also doubles the edges, which I thought was not possible for shelf doubling. So I am posting it here for you guys to decide :). Even if it is shelf, it's pretty awesome shelf doubling and I'm still excited :D.

Also as a quick FYI: Under my loupe (at 30x), they all appeared to be doubled distinctively, and I could not see any shelf like appearance. Yet, under the microscopic images at 25x, they appear to be shelfs. However until I used the microscope, I did not even see the "One Cent" double. I found that interesting :P

First up, this was the "Distinguishing mark". The doubling of this end of the ribbon was how I was sure that it was one of these coins. It may or may not be doubled, but under a loupe it sticks out from other shield pennies.

Next, the most distinguishing doubling. I actually did not even see this until under the microscope at 25x. My Loupe was at 30x, so it is a bit strange to me.

Then, comes "E Pluribus Unum on the shield":

Finally, the "United States of America"

Any tips, tricks, or information on how to tell this distinctively in the future (Whether its MD or DD) would be highly appreciated! Thank you :)

Sorry it is all shelf like doubling. AKA Machine doubling-Machine damaged-strike doubling-mechanical doubling. I prefer the term Machine damaged as it always reduces the size of the devices. (hub doubling enlarges the devices) The best way to tell is that the normal devices and hub doubled devices show a taper on them making them show a gradual light change getting darker. On the machine doubled examples the color is always the same and reflects without the fading light change.

Note this on these coins. The light is the same color where there is no rounded edge. It is flat and shelf like on machine damage and thus is just one color because of the lack of roundness. Hope this helps.

Why sorry? I still found what I wanted :P. To be honest it would have made me nervous if they were some kind of new coin because I'm one of those people who are "too careful" with stuff. Plus it makes me anxious. I love MDs when they're dramatic like this.

Also Thank you! I swear I read and read about Machine Doubling vs. double die, and believe I have it. However when I get direct advice on here I seem to absorb it so much more.

Third, The Kennedy face concerns me. I have some faces like that on a few Lincoln 1959s. The image shows the facial doubling, but I had it backwards. I thought the MD in that photo was the DD :/ The noses on my 59 Lincoln roll were like the first one, but I'm not sure if the rest is too; I just remember them being doubled. Luckily I still have the coins, but haven't taken as much care of them as I should have.Stay tuned for those within the next day or two if I check them out and they seem to fit the description.

Also once again thank you guys for your help :).

Cool finds!
The E PLURIBUS UNUM on shield cents is incuse, so when it is a doubled die it will look like the photo below:

Like Coop said, on the raised devices, a doubled die variety will show them wider.

Incuse as in they appear as if hit with like a stamp thing? I have a few quarters that I called into question because I thought it was a malfunction due to the font looking jiggly. Time to check those again too! :D

Thank you!

It also show the devices reduced in size. Just opposite the MD on raised devices as CWB mentioned:
Incuse devices hub doubled

Raised devices hub doubled

These images were from the same coin in different areas. Steve Young sent me this coin and I love it. A great image for showing the affect of hub doubling on raised and incuse devices.

The ATB Quarters have the devices on the outside edge of the coins on the reverse incuse. But when looking at these, they look like doubled dies, but are the reverse. Machine damaged. The devices are raised on the die to make them incuse on the coin. So slight die movement makes the incuse devices wider because of die movement.

Same with the incuse VDB on the Cents:

They get larger with machine damage during the strike on incuse devices. (just opposite the raised hub doubling we are used to seeing)

Heres the few that seem to match or look similar:

This one is a different one but still 1959:

Those would fit the profile, wouldn't they? The chin is the only thing that concerns me as it looks more mechanic to me in a way. What do you guys think?

There was a trench that was added on some wheat cents years ago.

In earlier die states you can see them until they die was polished and removed them.
