I'm curious... I've often heard there are ways to tell the difference between 1921 dated Morgans and those dated 1904 and earlier without looking at the date or MM. What do you look for to make that distinction?
The easy way to tell is the reverse parallel arrow feathers much like the 1878. There are other thing on the reverse such as large stars and flat breast. The obverse has a some changes in the facial features of the nose, lip, eye lash missing and no crease above chin.
The luster is also different as it is broken much like the Peace dollars and the Morgan 1921 series is prone to white spots.
On the 21P there were two reverses a 17 berries and a 16 berries. There are a number of varieties within the two reverses. The 16 berries has one berry missing at the top inside of the right wreath.
