The curse of the oversized, wrong style mintmark.

This one fools a lot, especially the fact that it's made to look old and aged.

I'm not convinced it's fake. Do you have detailed reasons why you think it is? From what I can see, it seems to have the telltale die chip in the upper left of the B, and the striations around the MM match many images of this MM position. I think it's just damaged/corroded.

Compare with genuine example from ha.com:

Common fake, I 100% guarantee it's not real, I've seen this type many times.

First off, that's not a die chip. It's part of the mintmark...

I was referring to the die chip in the B in LIBERTY.
Certified example:

Subject coin:

Note also that the diagonal striations (polish lines?) inside the 0 in 1909 match the image I posted above.

Maybe counterfeits are that good? Maybe I'm hallucinating? I don't know. Just pointing out markers between this coin and certified examples. If this one matches a known counterfeit, does anyone have images of another example? I realize the MM on this one looks larger than normal, but it's pretty beat up and the image is taken from an angle and not straight on.

You can clearly see the mintmark style is wrong, it's compressed.
