Has anyone tried EZ Coin program for organizing your collection? It looks pretty good on their website.
Pros or cons.
Thanks Frank

I prefer using a spreadsheet.
Then I can tailor it anyway I want.

I second the spreadsheet idea.

However, they are not necessarily right for everyone. What is your goal?

I like the idea of printing out reports. Also the coin values are updated.
I need to catalog my collection somehow.

Good reasons for wanting something more than the typical spreadsheet. While making reports would be easy, having it automatically update prices would involve more work. Time being money, a software package would be cheaper.

May I recommend CoinManage from Liberty Street. Great software with what you need plus. Help is poor, but if you have basic computer knowledge you will be fine. No Mac.

I wrote my own website... Definitely more expensive as you have a monthly cost but I already manage other sites so it's just a subdomain. By doing this I know what I have and what my need list is in every category.

I know this is not the solution for everyone but for those with an inkling towards web work this is the best solution for me.

Otherwise I'd go the spreadsheet route as I can customize for my needs specifically. Also, it's not platform dependent.

I use Exact Change. I really like it--lotsa features. US, foreign, attach photos, price updates, has photos of US/foreign, foreign date conversion, lists (want lists, sell lists, inventory lists, lists by type (e.g., boats/ships), value lists, etc.), reports, varieties, storage locations, online support forum, responsive seller, etc. I like that I can export an updated want list in pdf form and save/send it to myself for reference on my iPhone.

Whatcha lookin' for?

Garoyn, thanks for the information. I'm looking for a good record keeping program that I can import my own photos of my coins. Also, have many report choices, get updated prices, and some easy to access support. Looks like Exact Change would work for me.

Thank you all who answered my initial request. After researching various software programs I think I might give exact change a try. I think it will do everything I want and more.

Happy collecting, Frank

This may be late but...
I have Coin Assistant for my coins and EZ Stamp for my stamps. I like the stamp program so much that I have been thinking about switching to EZ Coin. However CA was really helpful in creating an affordable custom template for when I went from Liberty Street software to CA. They have continued to be a truely valuable resource for me.
Some of the cheaper I'd be wary of. They tend to go out of business and so in a few years you may not be able to use them on a newer computer.

Yeah I know this is an old thread. I just recently got Numismatist's Notebook II, it's a free download. It seems okay so far.

EZ Coin's software is pretty awesome.
I have been using it for 5 years..
I can add my own photos, super easy...as well as add my own data.
Plus the updates are out every year..
The reporting is very flexible, you can design your own. It has a report manager built in.
I can't recommend this enough.
