Picked this little guy up today for $10 at a garage sale. I'm swaying towards an AU58? What's your opinion?

VF30 with verdigris on both sides.

Should go AU but as Pertinax said it has verdigris so will only
get worse unless you neutralise it

Any idea how to deal with this corrosion on old AU coins?

The coin is not really worth bothering about.
However to fix the green stuff simply soak it in WD40 for an hour or so.
Then gently wipe it off and allow to dry.
Watch your top knot
