If not for the wavy pattern and slight up-peel I'd say Retained Cud. Still kinda cool. What say you guys...

I'd say lam error because of the uplight.

A pretty greased obverse die to add to it haha.

Nice error :)

I vote lamination, plus grease on the reverse at the bottoms of the "PL" in "PLURIBUS"

Some of the laminations look so different. But yours flow in a straight line. Here is another one I found years ago that look different:

Yeah that's a strange looking lam error, it almost looks like a strike through!

Nice error!

Thanks guys. I knew it was an unusual one at first glance. It's now 2x2'd and will soon be forgotten about until it's "rediscovered" in a few years lol
Rest in Peace

That is funny. I do the same thing but, make sure I make a note on the 2x2.
When I croak somebody will see the method in my madness.

Lamination peel, almost no resemblance to an actual Retained Cud.

I know cc2000. The resemblance is only in the quartered rim to rim placement. The "what say you guys" comment was about how unusual a lam it is. I could have been.more clear

Several pictures of laminations on this page: http://www.lincolncentsonline.com/laminations.html
It is interesting to see how they differ from coin to coin.

Thanks for the link cbw. You know I just had a thought. On mine, the upset flaking is on the top side so that means that the part that would pop off if it did is the almost entire part of the coin, right? Imagine that in a double slab!
