Just looking through ebay and was looking at the attached picture, then I noticed that they've spelt 'together' as 'togehter', which is beyond idiotic. Anyone else got slabs with spelling errors? I've not seen one before this..

Hear, hear to that. It doesn't exactly give off a great sense of trust towards the service.

I have an 1782 coin in an NGC slab with an 1784 on the label. Picked up on heritage and even they noted it was wrong. This post reminds me I need to inquire about how to get it corrected. I've just called them and they asked to see a picture of the coin and the slab to make sure I was reading the coin correctly. Will let you know how things go from here :)

Haha, such a typical response from a TPG "please take a picture because I don't think you can read properly". Keep us in the loop!

Just posting an update in my communication with NGC. I provided them with pictures of the coin and slab as requested. A couple hours later they responded that graders confirmed the label is incorrect and is what they call a "mechanical error". I was provided a "complimentary services" form via email that will allow me to re-submit the coin for the label to be corrected. This form only works for correcting mechanical errors and appearance review. For the mechanical errors, they do not ask for credit card info, so it seems to be free, including free of the handling charge and return shipping. Let's find out!

Happens ALL the time. Jon's Maryland struck feeder finger has it spelled w/o the y and that's a high profole error coin.

Just an update on my submission to correct the mechanical error. The form said it would take about 5 working days. I dropped it off in the mail on Friday the 30th. Since I am Ft Myers, Sarasota is the next big city up the highway and presume they received it pretty quick. The return package arrived this past Tuesday, so they held pretty true on the 5 working days. Unfortunately, I am in Hong Kong and China for work, so I can't actually get my hands on it for the grand unveiling until late next week.

Just updating the status of the coin I'd sent into NGC to fix a "mechanical error", being the label had the incorrect date. The coin was returned with the correct label, an updated holder such the edge can be seen (as best it can for its size), and even a catalog number added to the label. My only cost was shipping to them. Overall, very happy with the customer service on this little project.
