One of my graded coins appears to have rotated inside the slab. Is there any way to fix this without damaging the slab or the coin?

Lightly tap one corner keeping the rest of the slab upright. The coin will eventually rotate to the correct position. But if it does it will continue to rotate one way or the other with any subsequent movement.

Or, just pay to reslab it if it drives you nuts.

, and if it starts rotating the wrong way when you tap it, just tap the other side.

Gently touch a vibrating toothbrush to either edge of slab, you will see it start to rotate.

Doesn't all that rotation inside the slab cause abrasion?

In theory, yes, but the amount of wear would be impossible to see, even at 100X, and the coin rotated hundreds of times.

To cause abrasion, you need some sort of abrasive material inside the slab; that is not the case here.

Just do it and don't have any worries, because there ain't any.

I'm not up on slabs,is that an old slab known as a rattler?
Won't PCGS re-slab for free being it's a defective product?
Also, wouldn't plastic have a degree of roughness to it causing abrasion?

I don't believe that a slab is defective if it is a rattler.
Since it is easy to correctly orientate a coin inside a slab, it is easy to tolerate that the coin contained therein may have rotated.

I do not believe that my slab is a rattler. Rattler slabs are smaller and have a green label.

I will try the toothbrush idea later today. Thanks for your help guys!

I'd let it be.
My concern, like others have said, would be abrasion.
That could turn your MS-65 into an AU-58 slider.

I'm wondering what would happen if this was a lesser known TPG. Calls of low quality rubbish plastic and slack quality control spring to mind.

Only the edges of the coin are touching the rubber insert in the slabs. The face of the coin doesn't rest against the slab wall neither does the reverse. You can tap it around in a circle all day long and you're not going to put "wear" on the coin. It's really just an annoyance
