I know it's no big deal but I can't find an 06-07 D penny. I got a 1975 to present penny book and filled it today .You'd think a few new D mints would find there way East..

F150, I have plenty of 06/07 D mint coins but the Ps are very hard to come by here in the west coast. I'd be happy to send you some if you're interested.

You know you'd think each mint would have distribution points "cities"west for Phily and east for Denver. Arthrene thanks but Ill wait on them, there not that important.

I am pretty sure the two different mints only serve their region (or their half of the country as it is) and are under no obligation to distribute their mintages nationwide.

As someone who goes through change and rolls, there is definitely a bias for "D" and "P" country. I recently bought a bunch of "P" Kennedy's from a Coincommunity member - I just got tired of searching for them. Same applies for pennies, nickels, etc.

Ahhhhhhhh.......the voice of reason.
To me, at some point, usually different for each of us, we move from coin "collectors" to coin "searchers." I hope to be on the middle road between the two, maintaining my identity as a collector.
I'm going through about 50# of pennies I cached over the years in the 70's. For the hours spent on this cache, the returns are very poor. So, I do it more to amuse myself with hope rather than relying on it to fill my collection. Heck, I've even created subsidiary categories of collecting just to make it interesting.
I wonder if, "ABE WITH FRECKLES" is next. I do separate out heavily and/or beautifully toned 60s - 90's coins and rollem up.
Fishing Wisdom..."that's why they call it fishing, not catching."
Coins? "Thats why they call it searching not collecting?"

I love that quote you created j_h_s "So, I do it more to amuse myself with hope" . I keep sifting thru that first $50 bag of wheaties with that feeling of anxious hope--kinda like as a child waiting for Santa to come!
