1951 London Mint Halfpenny. If this coin is a proof, it is an extremely valuable and rare piece of numimatica*. My older copy of Renniks shows the value at $35,000. I suspect that the location of ALL of these proofs is known.
Even before the time when proofs had highly polished fields and frosted details, the fields had better than 'normal' fields, with less mint lustre than for normal business strikes, a kind of 'halfway house ' in comparison to those proofs produced in the years 1955-64.
I can see some lustre in the legends, despite the the pictures being a bit out of focus. I do not think that this coin is a proof.
