It appears to be fused metal from the damaged portion of the dime. Somehow the metal from the dent was folded over and then pressed into the coin's surface. It might have been from a coin counter or similar devices.

In any event, I would not call this a Cud.

The metal flow looks like heat damage to me.

I still think it's a Cud just that it has suffered PMD.
