Hello All,

I was wondering if you can help ,me identify if these coins naturally toned this way or was there a cleaning attempt?

Thanks again

Since the lines run the same direction on both sides, I am assuming this is an improper alloy mix, or "woodgrain". Some collect these "woodies", and they are common in early (similar dates as yours) Lincoln cents, especially from the San Francisco mint. I wonder if Canada sourced their planchet material from the same supplier as the US Mint?

Those look to be very nice, uncirculated examples, I see no sign of cleaning from these pics.

Here is my "Woodie" to use as comparison.
As previously stated, caused by improper mixture of the copper , tin and zinc.

Does not appear that any of these three have had any cleaning, although from pictures only it can be tough to be sure. My guess, though, is that they are not cleaned or dipping or played with.
