The ladies at my convenience store save dollars and half dollars for me. So today they were all excited. "We have $15.50 for you." I figured 15 2000 D Sacs and a '71 D JFK. WRONG! Try 2 proof '77 Ikes, 2 proof '77 JFKs, 2 '81 proof JFKs, 2 '81 proof SBAs, plus an AU '65 JFK and a nice 36 S Walking Liberty. Also got a couple of AU JFK upgrades, an AU Grant dollar and a painted Sac. All the proofs were gems but they are, of course, now circulated. Somebody was jonesin' for some rocky road or some cherry Garcia. I also got a 44 oz. Coke Zero but I had to pay for that.

Buddy, it was indeed. I couldn't believe it. Can't wait to go back today.
jbuck - the cupcakes will be dropped off this morning.
Forgot to mention I got a silver dime from the change dispensing machine thing there about two weeks ago and a Czech coin about two months ago.

Truly amazing finds from a convenience store, but unfortunately one of the first things that would cross my mind is that the coins were stolen and then dumped. Nothing you can do about it of course and at least they're going to a good home.

It gets better. I went to my bank the next day (yesterday)to dump coin. The teller says she has a "dollar coin" for me. Again, I'm thinking an Ike at best. But... Hello, 1926 Peace dollar! I'm buying a lottery ticket today. |

Thanks Casacade. That line is also one of my favorites and I use it often. I try not to use it at the Circle K however as they have heard it a zillion times.

Circle K... soon to be a common sight here in Sweden (and Norway, Denmark). Apparently the brand "Statoil" is going to become Circle K. Don't know if I like it though.  |

Took the cupcakes to my bank ladies and figured I would go ahead and get some pennies to find that Indian head that was waiting for me. Got 20 rolls and found one 1944 and one 1952D. Guess the streak has ended. Still gonna get that lottery ticket though, just in case. Gotta go to Missouri though. Illinois has stopped paying out the prizes because they're broke. But they are still selling tickets and keeping the money, though.
