Hey, I don't know where to begin... so I bought a few world banknotes on ebay. Most came nicely but one has a small but very noticeable tear on it. So I went right ahead and gave mostly positive feedbacks and one NEUTRAL feedback for that one note with a small tear. Right away, the seller sent me a very offensive message suggesting I made a big mistake by giving him a NEUTRAL feedback ... so I replied by saying I gave honest feedbacks. He then replied by being more offensive indirectly of course by using polite words but even a retard can tell he's being aggressive and offensive. He also requested that I revise the feedback. So my question is, are buyers only allow to write positive feedbacks? And all negative and neutral feedbacks must have the buyers permission? Is this truly my fault? Even if so, what about his attitude? I mean I am new to ebay and numismatic in general but I at least know that attitude matters a lot in business. How can such an offensive seller get so much positive feedbacks (2k+ feedbacks, 99.9% posotive). By forcing everyone to give positive feedbacks or by forcibly requesting feedback revision? Never knew a neutral feedback is a deadly crime...

I just did because I'm such a nice person... is there anything else I can do to alert other buyers? Or re-revise my feedback?

Neutral feedback on ebay is the same as a negative with how ebay rates sellers for discounts. Really anything but a 4 or 5 star positive might as well be a negative with how ebay treats it.

Did you try working with the seller before leaving feedback? Did he have a return policy? Most sellers would take the item back if they know a buyer is unhappy. A quick note to the seller usually clears the air. Just need more facts before I can say it was deserved or not, seller may have felt blindsided, but should not have been offensive.

RK55, no, I didn't send him a note beforehand, but Like I said, I am new to ebay. What I can't stand is his attitude...

Contacting the seller before leaving neutral or negative feedback is a must, in my opinion. Doing this has been beneficial for me both as a seller and a buyer.

Yeah I agree, it might have been an honest oversight by the seller, and they might, and usually do, appreciate the chance to make it right first. I always contact the seller first if there is an issue. The buyer always has the last word on a negative or neutral feedback, and it should only be used as a last resort imo.

Weather the seller deserves a neutral, negative or not, they have no right to coerce you and speak to you in an unprofessional manner. People have to understand you can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time.

Let me see if I understand this: You bought a banknote that turned out to be "not as described". You then proceeded to leave neutral feedback for the seller. The seller then sent you a series of notes that you describe as being offensive, asking you to revise the feedback.
You then revised your feedback to positive or erased your feedback all-together?
If this is correct, then I fail to see the problem here. As the buyer, it is your prerogative to leave any kind of feedback that is justly warranted. Not sure why you are making this into some side-issue where you were coerced to "get permission to leave neutral or negative feedback". It is your choice. Period. Also, you asked "what about his attitude". He is a human being, and thus, you cannot control how he acts or behaves. It is what it is. Its called life.
