This is an Asian coin I recently got. Can't find anything on it.

That looks like a charm or a token, not a coin.

I really don't know, although it's probably modern. Maybe a moderator can move it to a more specific forum and someone more knowledgeable can tell you more.

Hmm ok. Well thanks for replying. You actually helped me. I have another one sort of like this that has a piece on top of it with a loop and when you said it could be a charm I started digging and found similar pieces. The one not in the picture seems to be an old chinese zodiac charm. But I cant find a possible date or even era. My guess would be they are either replicas of a very old charm or an original that is more modern.

These charms are difficult to date, because they've been making similar pieces for centuries and many of them (such as this one) use deliberately "old-fashioned" scripts. It's most likely to be modern (post-1950).

I would bet this is a modern (<100 years old) creation. Like so many charms, it is supposed to resemble a cast cash coin, however the characters are roughly textured while the deep fields are smooth. It should be the opposite.

Additionally, the coin is made to look worn, but the wear is very even. I would expect smooth or more worn spots; there aren't any. The charm is also darkly toned to suggest age, but there is no sign of verdigris.

I think it is a cast replica of one of these:
