The split on the lower serif is common for that year because of punch damage. While location is important for a die match, the having the spread of the RPM is more important. Pete2226 Pillar of the Community United States 3331 Posts	Posted 11/07/2015 10:44 am I have been fooled at least 4 times by this damaged punch! My senior memory has trouble! I thought it would be interesting to compare the marks - assuming they were all made with the same punch. Any comments? Report this Post to the Staff
Pete2226 Pillar of the Community United States 3331 Posts	Posted 11/07/2015 11:56 am What I am wondering about the previous comparison photo: Are there at least 2 different damaged punches? The 1st and 3rd appear to have a curved left portion of the upright to the D. The 2nd and 4th have what appears to be a straight left portion.
