This is one that's been in my 7070 for several years. I know it's heavily polished and in need of a replacement, but I thought it was an interesting variety, with the date overlapping with the central design.

G, but agreed the date touching Lady Liberty like this is pretty cool.

Years ago now, when I put together a 7070 set, I actually sought out coins like this that had some anomaly. The 1847 dime is cool and reminds me of the 1854 Half Dime I had in the 7070 set. Akin to the 1847, that date was likewise embedded. Then too, I had a few coins with interesting die cracks, overdates, etc. I aimed at VF and better, so the set was a constant work in progress ... fun to assemble. Coins like the 1847 add spice to a set, regardless of the grade.

I believe that the date punches used for this variety were supposed to be used on the Quarter Dollar which resulted in a Large Date variety. I have been wrong before.

These pictures definitely under exaggerate the polishing, and the coin is worn enough that it doesn't fit snugly in the hole. Even when I do replace it, though, I'll keep it.
