I have found a coin that looks exactly as your penny, only difference is the one I found is a 2006 penny what are the odds of dryers warping pennies exactly the same way?

based on the first picture, it looks like part of the edge was ground away. Please post better pictures.

Looks more like it was an Encased Cent. When coins are pressed into the holders, it damages the edge like that. I don't know why people remove them, but they do.
