1965 1c Lb Update: V3

Update: after consulting my Charest and Charlton's and discussing this with another collector, I am certain this is the blunt 5 variety. The genuine pointed 5 has a die chip at the end of the flag, and overall the shape of the numeral is slightly different. When I find a genuine example, I'll post comparison photos.

Definitely a LB:

I'm certain this is a blunt 5 because it doesn't have the die chip:

Here's a different example of a blunt 5, which may only appear more blunt due to lighting or resolution of the photo:

kurtS, I think we both hit it! The photos, (yours), Mmine, and the first poster, (who started all this), all appear to be V.4 The angles in the book, on J&M.com, and the three sets of photos all show the very same angle, on the end of the 5. Lets celebrate! We got it!
Lets NOT celebrate! The cause of the "angle" is a die chip at the point if the horizontal bar of the "5", causing a "false end, and angle. Variety 3 folks, sorry. I found another, today, same story, V3.

KurtS, you did all right! those photos show a very nice coin. Not one that has been to China , and back.
