The stars on the right make me think it's a copy. Do you have a reverse image?

The coin has been seen by local coin dealers and where I found it, I also found colonial coppers and large cents. I weighed it , it weighs 8.74grams and is 25 mm diameter *** Edited by Staff - Please review the rules that you agreed to when you registered. ***

The stars, both on the obverse right ans above the eagle reverse, are struck up and showing no wear as found on mint state gems while much of the obverse detail is weak and mushy. The 6 in the date laps over into the lower bust where it should not be. How did you clean it? Perhaps it is gold but is highly unlikely to be genuine.

It looks okay to me. And the details condition seems to be UNC or very close to. That is one heck of a find if it turns out to be genuine. Congratulations.

Here's the lower obverse of a genuine mint state piece compared to the OP's. Note the hair detail as well the location and position of the 6 in the date and the bust to the stars.

its a Chinese cast
i know which store on the site we do not talk about sells it along with a plethora of fake Classic US Gold including Modern fake PCGS Slabbed $20 gold eagles.
They did a good job on this one when someone who will not take the time to run proper diagnostics handles it. Great stuff BH!

If I may say, the story of this find is difficult for me to swallow.

I never like offending anyone but having seen the number of "tests" coming through the CCF over the years, I would tend to think this is yet another. This site is filled with Numismatists, aspiring or established, hailing from every corner of the known Numismatic Universe. It's tough to pull the wool down over the eyes. Plus, for me at least, I know exactly which bookmark on my browser to click and look at some of the exact same coins that get posted since I know the resource that gets them to the states. So I see instant comparisons in most cases. oh well, onward and upward.

My first impression was that it didn't look right. Glad my suspicions were confirmed.

Maybe my photo isn't the best, but I can guarantee it is 100% genuine. I've been metal detecting for over 25 years. This coin was 13 inches deep on a colonial first settlers camp. All coins from this particular spot are all 1700's-early 1800's . The weight is correct 8.74 grams, the size is correct at 25mm and I sent it out to PCGS Monday after several coin guys examined it up close & looped it. If you study the variations in the die types, you'll see exact matches this including the week die stamping on the reverse. I only rinsed this with water knowing not to clean it. Your thought on this 100% genuine coin would be appreciated. *** Edited by Staff - Please review the rules that you agreed to when you registered. ***

Please read my post and I can obviously see my photo isn't even half as clear as the comparison photos due to this site's image compression. If anyone wants full size images, please I'll email you full size. I'm a nurse and have been for over 19 years and metal detecting has been my hobby for over 25 years. I'm 100% honest , this is no scam or tall story. Kellyco the metal detector company is now sponsoring me and you can call there to verify my find, speak to Blake at ext 184. Please, someone who seen the video and my find told me to post it here, go to the Facebook page and check my better resolution photos also.
