Those sets are so tough. I bought over 800 worth Banks boxs to search for wartime silver , 1951s, 1939d or 1939s, 1950d, 1938 years or stuff to try to finish my extra sets laying around. After I went thru 7 boxs I never found an 1958, 1955 or 1942d, 1938 thru 1939 mint mark, 1950 anything, 1951 s to get my extra incomplete sets beter shape to dump on ebay since my sets are finished I will keep. I did find 4 wartime silvers, maybe less an 8 bucks on pre 1959 stuff. It looks like I cant finish my extra sets like I wanted to do after finding that 1939 d coin. I did find an 1911 nickel and 1936 nickel in those boxs. The 1936 can be read no problem. Those were same box.

I learned after going thru that mess of nickels and finding that 1939d nickel before that. It may never happen again unless I go thru thousands and thousands of coins to try find again on my extra sets.

I think these days the 38 thru 61 book cant be built from roll searching after 1 year of trying and going thru another 800 bucks worth nickels. I guess building the 1938 thru 61 folder is history since all semi or keys are gone it seems from bank rolls. I wonder how easy it was in 1985 or over 20 years ago to build an 1938 thru 1961 folder from bank rolls.

You were correct it is milestone to even finish an 1938 thru 61 folder with all semis or keys gone from bank rolls. If anybody who reads this. My advice to you just buy an complete set already on ebay becides trying build one an set from bank rolls. Even then the keys will cost you more than what you buy an completed already I learned on trying finish my extra sets laying around.

Since I have two sets finished , My other 5 sets I dont think I will finish them. I wish I knew that over an year ago before I started my sets. Ow well live and learn. In beginning I thought it could done but I wrong from bank rolls.

I'm nearly finished with my Jefferson album. There's a few holes and I already had a set of silver nickels (bought on a whim a year and a half before I started collecting), but everything else has been filled from coin rolls. It's quite the feeling to inch closer and closer to filling it up. I may end up buying a few coins, but I have had so much fun hunting in rolls that I want to delay that purchase for as long as I can!

That is fantastic! Take a break from the nickels for a while and then you can come back for more. Once a searcher always a searcher LOL
