I am fairly new to this.. Have been looking at saving coins for years after discovering an old collection from my parents about 4 years ago... I am so excited I am shaking because after all of this time I think I have found my first mint error coin..... Or could be damaged but I seriously think it is from the mint. Any help would be so appreciated...

Unfortunately, someone cut into your coin. It is damage. You can tell because the rim has been displased.
