Got this for $9 yesterday. I plan on filling it with Peace dollars. I will post updates here as I add coins! I do have a dilemma though. I'm only planning to collect by year with no regard to mint. That makes 10 coins. I have 12 holes. I don't want empty holes and I only want one coin from each year. My first thought was to "bookend" the set with a coin from the series before and after the Peace dollars. Morgan's came before, wait... wait, what comes after? Hmmm... Eisenhower. That's a big gap, and the Eisenhower is clad. Not sure how I feel about that... I could look for a silver Eisenhower, but they weren't meant for circulation, right? Please share your thoughts... Thanks!

Interesting question. I would try a type/condition thing... Like have 1 lowball Peace dollar and 1 highest grade Peace dollar type coin you can find. Show them both on their reverse to not only differentiate your type coins from the rest of the set, but also give the person a view of the reverses. The above is assuming that the 10 coin year set is in average condition of high VF to XF as to have the type coins stand out from the rest. This is not too difficult to do for Peace dollars.

There's an idea I hadn't considered! Not sure how I feel about having two reverses showing, although I do like that idea better than the Eisenhower...
Thanks!!

Put a morgan and an.ike in the holes so you have the other 2 large silver dollars of the 20th century represented. Easy peasy

I am liking the reverse-shown option better, but not so much with a lowball and high grade coin, relative uniformity in condition would be desirable to me in this case. I was thinking of the "bookend" concept- one on the top left and one on the lower right for the reverse coins, and that bothered me. But then my other brain cell started firing and I had the idea of putting the reverse coins in both upper corners- symmetrical and asthetically pleasing... Maybe I will buy a Morgan also and try it both ways once I get all of the Peace dollars...

If you don't mind what you are putting in.. An American silver eagle and a Ike reverse could look good for eye appeal, but that's going total random for what eye appeal or at least my eye appeal... I'd probably go with 2 reverse peace option. Regardless with that nice holder, you could easily change it if you get bored

Thanks for the input! I'm leaning toward the all peace option at this point... but I've got plenty of time to decide, and like CLS12 said, I can always change it up too...

Not a great picture, it looks better in-hand. Some wear and a few scratches but nothing too obvious. Paid $23.
