I am new to the boards like you, but I do not see any doubling.

No matter what the question is, when dealing with numismatics, it imperative to always signify the date and mint mark either verbally but preferably with photos for the experts to discern.

Or you can just visit the LHC date guide at:

for all of the information you ever dreamed you could even know about...

I see no doubling but do see worn die between UNITED and rim.If your talking about column 1 it should look like that.

Definitely struck by a worn die.
Good example of that.

It helps to see photos more or less right side up.

The tops of UNITED show a VLDS coin. (Very Late Die State) The line on the first bay on the first column is part of the design. (to make an appearance of columns behind that row)
Is-This-Doubling?
When the die is over polished, parts/all the column maybe removed. When the bays with out columns are polished, they usually are squared, but if slight rounding of the bays happen, then it can make it appear as an extra column. (localized polishing can remove parts of the design and make a raised area on the coins struck) On the extra column DDRs they are caused by the hubbing on the central areas of the bays. (on the coins they are raised)

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I didn't think it was doubling but didn't know what to call it. That is consistent with the awesome die Crack that connects the C and A in America.

Here is a chart of the different die states that may help you see what is going on.
