This one is an upgrade for me, I already had this coin in PCGS AU-53 grade, still, it is quite a cool coin.

It has been discussed before, as the 1982 New Zealand 10c planchet had basically the same specifications as the 1981 25c Barbados planchet.

This was my old coin: http://www.pcgs.com/cert/26645604 which now has a new home with an error collector in Montreal.

I suspect these were done with "helping hands" at the mint. Here is another one, except that he wants more than twice what it sold for at Heritage... I refused to bite on this one, I did not like the odd discolouration on the obverse.

I have seen that discolouration on another 50 cent error but I cant quite remember if it was a double struck 50 cent piece or a double denomination dollar/50 cent piece.

I stayed away from it also because of the discolouration.

I doubt you will find an example on foreign planchet as described probably had a helping hand in their creations but a thin planchet might be in the roll.
