You could get a 1908 and 1909, punch a hole through the mintmark area, and use ebay nomenclature to call them a 1908 (?S?!!?1?) and a 1909 (S?!?1?).

Interesting. A local coin club guy and a part time dealer at the flea market is a huge Indian Head cent guy. He always tells the story of how he brought in his Indian Head cent collection and took gruff from the coin club for his holed 1877. He would always reply, well yea, let me see your 1877. He upgraded that coin eventually. Makes me wonder if you didn't find his old holed 1877. I don't think he gets on the internet much if at all, so I will have to show him the pics from this thread next time I run into him. What are the odds, you'd have to think slim, but then again, how many holed 1877's are out there and I suspect there is zero chance this guy won't recognize his possibly former coin.

I've seen one other holed 1877 but it was in great shape. Went for over six hundred bucks. I was a little perturbed it went that high lol. I figured that was my last chance.
Exo that's a cool set sounds like.

52Raymo ... I've seen far more counterstamped Indians than holed ones. The holed set would be tougher to assemble, methinks, without a drill. I hope to soon post a completed set of counterstamped Two Cent Pieces. What's next for our OP ... a double-holed set of Indians? I once had a string of Indians that were holed and linked together. Sadly, the coins were aligned such that every date was holed, and many were in the seventies, twenty or more coins! I was happy to get rid of that acquisition!

From one OSU fan to another OSU fan's collection perhaps.
I know he said he sold his holed coin for roughly $200 and that it was beat up.
Go Bucks, Go Beavs, and while we are at it I'll throw in the third OSU and say go Cowboys.

Exo I'm just the opposite, I've seen more holed coins but then again I was looking for them. I have a bunch left over from lots I would buy to glean one or two I needed. Right now I'm kinda messing with fsb Mercs. Don't tell Carl.
