I picked up a 5 cent brass token for John J Begonis of 4 Market St., Hudson, Mass. in a collection recently. It looks like it is a late 1800s or early 1900s token.

I can't find any reference at all to the token or the merchant. Anyone ever heard of it?

I will post photos tomorrow.

I'd guess it is from the 20th century.

While not complete, there was only one result that came up on Find A Grave for this name.

John J. Begonis 1894-1940

The Hudson, Massachusetts Historical Society has one of these tokens in its collection.

Thanks...some nice added facts. I am concluding it was a little local token that never got catalogued. I google earthed the address...sadly now a parking lot.
