Bad, I am going MS-64 RD / corroded? is that corrosion on the stem of the right Wheat. The mark on the temple and jaw would keep me from 65. Also, nice Machine Doubling on the reverse.

Jim, no corrosion whatsoever on this coin, it's as fresh as the day it was minted.

While I tried to optimize the lighting to remove shadows so Metalman could see it was truely red (LOL), my natural light cast some bluish reflections on some of the surfaces (top of Lincoln's head for example). Any inconsistancies are due to reflections from that light. Solid red BU cents are very difficult (IMO) to photograph. Shadows and light variations cause dark spots that can be mistaken for toning.

Metalman, I have 3 lights that I use. One is an overhead flood that's simply in my basement ceiling. The second is a plain, bankers type desklamp with a 60W bulb diffused with a large Kimwipe taped to it. My third light is a "natural" light fluorescent desk lamp. It tends to cast a bluish light and is kind of difficult to work with, however, it tends to bring out fine details so I stay with it. Nothing fancy really, I even take the pics with camera in-hand, no tripod or anything. I've found that gives me more flexibility with angles and light position. I take several shots at different zoom levels, angles and distance from the coin. With the built-in camera image stabilization, I'm pretty sucessful....but certainly not a pro. LOL
