So I just now noticed a large cent I purchased with a lot of other coins has a mintage of only 357,000 but this coin is definitely in a worn state. Numismedia has this coin in G4 at $115 and so I am wondering what this one would be... possibly $20? Would this also be ungradeable since you can't see the back at all or as long as the date is availabe it could merit a grade? Thanks all!

$20 is a fair price ... $30, tops, I'd say, as a filler date or type.
Rest in Peace

A nice honest coin for a filler. I doubt it would make much better than $25.

Ok well hey got the hole bag of this and 20 other large cents (one of them being an 1851/81, but others aren't anything special) for $100 I wouldn't think that to be such a bad deal.

As long as they aren't all culls, ya did good.

Yeah not too bad. Definitely had a couple culls, but others were G-VG with only one that I have found to be fake (weight was off and had reeded edges for a year that wasn't supposed to). This and the 1851/81 are definitely the best I got! :)

I just want to follow up on this so I have an accurate grade for my records.

I would think this coin is gradable, since the surfaces are smooth and free off any damage besides honest wear. Just looking at PCGS photograde, I think the obverse might get a FR02 but the reverse is definitely in PO01 territory. In hand, you can barely make out "ONE CENT" and the wreath on the reverse, so I think it really is just wear.

I would like to call this one PO01, but am not sure whether the uneven strike/wear on the obverse precludes such a designation since the date and most of the stars are clear as day. Any lowball aficionados want to chime in?
