The newest addition to my eastern empire collection is this Kushano-Sassanian coin of Peroz I Kushanshah.

Circa 245-270 AD
Obverse: Ruler facing right wearing crown
Reverse: Zoroastrian fire altar
17.5 mm x 3.3 grams x 10h
Reference: MAC 1266, Gobl 1123, Cribb 33

oh wow, that is cool ski. so we have a fire altar without any attendants? or are those the curving lines on the side?

there are several of these on vcoins, many in rough shape, your is pretty nice!

Its interesting this type is and those of Varhran are sometimes offered in Electrum and Gold, but often for moon money. If you can find a small bronze in high grade you are made in the shade. This coin is very pleasing and certainly represents one of the lesser known political arrangements of the time.
