Thanks. Is that the one they refer to as the spitting horse error?

Yes that was the name it was given back in the day. They gave names to get people to buy/search for these when the States Quarter series started. Later they figure out it was just an even that happened normally as a die ages. But some people bought into it back then.

That is a nice one. I have 30 or so of those I pulled from bank rolls back in the day. I see them sell for $3-$5 on occasion. They are cool, but not worth much more than a quarter.

It is a famous Die Crack. I think it is very nice. There are price guide books and websites, Smilewastaken. When I consider the time and effort that goes into finding nice coins, I think they are under priced.
I have always believed the true value of a coin is how much the owner is willing to sell it for. If it doesn't sell, the owner (in essence) bought it. My price guide doesn't apply to unscrupulous scoundrels that misrepresent a coin. That's right, I said, "unscrupulous scoundrels". lol

Yeah, there's a lot of work and time that goes into finding these errors and such. Love the "unscrupulous scoundrels"... BAHAHAHA. I've been off work with a work injury to my back, can't really be buying much right now. So, I started up my coin collecting except that I've taken it to a new level by looking for errors and such, instead of just looking for old coins and that's what has prompted me to join here so I can ask lots of questions and annoy everyone here. ;)

Well you certainly came to the right place. I can only speak for myself, but I'm glad you did. This is definitely the place to learn about coins. When I first came here it took me about a week to learn how to get picture in a post, and even then, you could hardly tell what it was. As far as annoying people, I am really good at that. I don't mean to, I guess it just comes naturally. lol :>

Interesting crack. I especially am drawn to the way it interludes with the "C". Good eye!

I haven't found you annoying. It took me a good bit to figure out the picture posting too. I'm learning quite a bit I feel. I also love how it runs through the C. It almost like he's being led off the coin by an unseen person.
