I am an all coins junkbox 'specialist'.
I think that:
(1), mostly I win with at least small bargain,
(2), some I break even, and
(3), a few I loose out on.
Been doing it for decades; the bulk of my collection has been accumulated in this way.
The thrill of the hunt.

From, my experience, you did rather nicely with these, = (1).

The fun now for you is to fully identify and truthfully value them. Spend an honest amount of effort doing this for yourself, and only give in when you feel you are forced to, to then ask the expert CCF members to help you out.
Have fun!
Rest in Peace

How could you go wrong? Even if they're fake, it's a cheap lesson.

Well, they both appear to be genuine. And they're both silver, though somewhat debased (probably .500 fine or less). The top one is from Ottoman Turkey, the bottom one from Poland. The Ottoman coin is holed because, at one stage, it was used as ornamentation, probably part of a woman's finery. Being holed like this was a common fate for the smaller Ottoman coins; it affects the value, but does not necessarily render the coin "uncollectable".

I can't date either of them precisely. The Ottoman one, I believe, is a para from the reign of sultan Abdul Hamid I (AD 1774-1789). The Polish one is a 3 polker and is even older, from the 1500s or 1600s.

For $3 each, I'd have bought them.
