There is another local auction tomorrow and wanted to get opinions on this Seated Liberty dollar and Trade dollar. Wanted to get opinions on worth but also if they appear real or not? These are pics from the website and don't have the reverses on them unfortunately. Thanks!

A quick look at real ones... the Seated Liberty dollar date looks a little weird, also the positioning of the head's closeness to the denticles. As for the Trade dollar, I am not 100% about the denticles (and just making sure, denticles are the lines on near the edge of the coin, correct? That's is what I have been calling them). Any help would be appreciated! If I am not very certain about these two I am not going to bid but wanted other's opinions because they look nice and if at the right price may be very good type coins for my 7070.

Also, some more research I am uneasy about the branch being held the part under her arm looks fatter than on real Trade dollars. Unless someone else here has other view points it is looking like I will have to pass on these.

Stay away. You never know what could be lurking on the reverse.

I don't like either. The Seated dollar is not genuine. Diagnostically all wrong. I'd stay away from any Trade dollar that isn't certified.

Don't see anything specifically that makes me think the Trade dollar isn't legit but I wouldn't purchase a Trade dollar from an auction where there are known counterfeit coins. That Seated dollar is a pretty lousy fake.

Yeah I know in my heart to only buy a Trade dollar that is certified but at these local auctions you never know what the prices could go for for real coins. But seeing as he Seated dollar looks fake, I won't be bidding on the Trade dollar either. I was going to bring my scale and some 2x2s so I could weigh them too but there are still a lot of other coins, junk silver, so I will still be attending. Thanks all for confirming my suspicions!

Take a pocket scale with you. I'm sure the Seated $1 is surely a fake, and the Trade $1 has a suspicious looking rim.

Yup I keep trying to not have to, but will have to wait for the right one to come around already in a slab. I will definitely be at the auction for the junk silver and some Morgans/peace dollars still

Buy the slabbed coin and crack it out keeping the insert ;-)

The seated is fake. I would assume the trade is fake as well.

I think the Trade may be real but the seated is definitely fake.

Yeah I am gonna steer clear of these two due to the seated being fake and the trade being a super huge risk. Can't afford that right now. I will be able to check out the coins beforehand but will mostly look forward to junk silver and maybe some silver proof sets they have.
